Using the recipe found here I made my own laundry liquid

Perhaps I'm gross, but I was never taught or told that it was a requirement to scrub your kitchen sink, so I therefore never have. I wipe it down, but never apply cleaning products and elbow grease. Am I the only one?

You're not the only one. I wipe down the sink, but that's it. It seems to stay clean enough with the hot water and dish soap I run through it to wash cookie sheets and other things too large for the dishwasher. I've never noticed any sort of build-up or anything, at least.
I have a similar recipe for laundry soap that I'm excited to try once I run out of store-bought stuff!
